Companies turning to online recruitment amid economic gloom
As the economic downturn continues, many companies are turning to online recruitment to find the best and brightest new employees, it has been claimed.
Bryan Finn, an economist and founder of the consultancy firm Business Economics, said that many firms are looking for online solutions to their recruitment needs because it is a more effective way of inviting job applications.
He told Personnel Today: 'Employers are cutting back on budgets but there are more applicants than ever, so lots of HR professionals will see an increase in their workload.
'There's also much more appetite for going to work overseas and the upsurge in technology has meant it's easy for multinationals to recruit on a global basis.'
High street fashion retailer River Island recently announced it was using online recruitment to find sales advisers for its network of 200 stores across the UK.
