Accounting and finance hiring concerns ease
It has been revealed that there are now less hiring managers reporting a shortage of experienced accounting and finance professionals in the UK, in contrast to global trends.
Robert Half International surveyed employers in 20 countries and found that 43% of respondents in Britain are still finding it difficult to recruit skilled staff in this field, compared to 53% last year, Online Recruitment reports.
Internationally, 56% of recruiters are struggling to find the right accounting and finance employers, which is the same as last year.
'Accountancy is one of the top choices of profession for UK graduates and London is one of the world's financial hubs, which is why there would appear to be less difficulty recruiting in the UK,' Phil Sheridan, Managing Director for Robert Half, remarked.
Worries about retention of experienced workers were also found to have risen, with 58% of global employers and just other half of British hiring managers expressing concern about losing their best staff to other companies.
This follows a recent finding by GAAPweb which suggested that the accounting and finance skills shortage in the UK is likely to be increased as more employees in the sector look to work abroad.
