Jobseekers 'welcome' Facebook checks
An employer check of a job candidate's social networking profile page does not concern nearly half of the respondents to a new poll.
Conducted by Zinc Research and Dufferin Research, almost half of the survey respondents were unconcerned about the information they have posted online.
Furthermore, two out of five people said they would think about submitting their social networking profile alongside their CV when applying for a new job in the future.
Brian Singh, the Managing Director of Zinc Research, told bosses that they could use the social networking phenomenon to their advantage.
'Companies that grasp this reality and develop a Facebook-related attraction and retention strategy will better connect to their workforce and get the upper hand in business,' he stated.
However, despite protests from the Trades Union Congress, many UK businesses have restricted the use of websites such as Bebo, Facebook and MySpace in the office.
