Opportunities in technology highlighted
The range of opportunities available in the technology sector for graduate jobseekers has been highlighted by one expert in the industry.
Director of womenintechnology.co.uk, Maggie Berry, remarked that job hunters can find numerous career paths that stem from a job in technology.
'There are so many different ways you can get involved with the industry and due to widespread skill shortages there are a big range of opportunities available,' she stated.
Ms Berry also outlined the benefits of working in the sector, describing it as 'innovative and ever-evolving.'
Employees in the industry use 'cutting-edge technology' to directly influence the success of their business - an aspect of the job that can be very rewarding, she suggested.
However, figures from the British Computer Society have revealed a gender gap in the technology sector, with less than 30% of university lecturers in computer science and IT being female.
