Jobseekers say they are confident about 2008
Jobseekers are optimistic about their chances of finding new employment in 2008, a new survey has shown.
Conducted by the Hotonline Network, the poll revealed that 84% of job hunters feel their chances of securing a new position are the same in 2008 as they were last year, Online Recruitment magazine reports.
Earning more money is the reason for 31% of jobseekers to look for new work, while 17% said they are looking for faster career progression.
This follows last week's findings from The Credit Show, which revealed that an optimistic approach to the year ahead has also been taken by many small- to medium-sized enterprises.
Andy Baker, Group Director of the Hotonline Network's parent company Trinity Mirror, claimed job hunters are 'confident' about seeking new employment despite problems in the economy.
'We experienced a 21% increase in the number of job vacancies posted across our network of specialist sites between December and February, showing that the online market remains strong,' he remarked.
