Online jobs search is preferred by graduates
Most graduates use the internet to search for jobs after they leave university, new research has indicated.
A study by Reed has shown that 89% of graduates only use the web to look for their ideal role, Online Recruitment magazine reports.
Further to this, only 3% of graduate jobseekers said they regularly check newspapers for vacancies.
However, Stephen Harrison, Operations Manager at the firm, noted that graduates may not have the correct attitude when it comes to job-interview preparation.
'Many graduates are not spending enough time preparing and researching for job interviews,' he said.
Over half (57%) of those questioned spend less than an hour researching jobs before an interview, the poll revealed, which echoes recent warnings from the Graduate Recruitment Bureau that graduates are not displaying the right skills to employers.
'Companies expect interview candidates to have done their homework and any graduate looking for their first step on the career ladder should realise this,' Mr Harrison stated.
