Warning over boozy Facebook pictures
Job candidates should be wary of plastering their drunken nights out on social-networking sites such as Facebook, Bebo and MySpace, one company has stated.
Recruitment consultancy Badenoch & Clark has issued the warning, after conducting research into the issue and discovering that 62% of employers have checked social-networking sites when evaluating job applicants.
The wrong kind of information on one's profile could hinder career progression, the firm advised, despite Jobsinpods.com founder, Chris Russell, describing Facebook as a 'talent goldmine' recently.
Andy Powell, a Director at Badenoch & Clark, remarked that some people may forget that they are putting such information in the public domain.
He stated: 'Most people have many elements to their online presence, but they don't all necessarily show us in the best light.
'More employers are taking note of net reputation so it is right to be a bit careful.'
