Job security described as less important to graduates
The current crop of graduates is less concerned with job security than previous generations, one recruitment expert has stated.
Business Development and Sales Manager for the Great Place to Work Institute, Williams Johnson, said that graduates are looking for 'an affiliation with the brand' when working for large organisations.
'They are looking for something they can identify with, it's very different than being concerned about job security,' he remarked.
This goes against research conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute, which discovered job security has become more of a concern for most people due to the risks associated with an unstable economic climate.
Mr Johnson added that it is probable that some graduates would leave one company for a more exciting position at another one.
'These are bright people. They tend to have graduated from top universities and they love that they can get a job virtually anywhere. So money's not a concern,' he noted.
