Online assessment during recruitment increases
Job candidates are finding online testing is increasingly being used in the recruitment process, one source has suggested.
In a feature by The Chicago Tribune, it was revealed that 40% of companies are reliant on computerised assessment when hiring a new employee, as it can match a candidate's personality with others who have been successful in the same role.
Firms are also likely to utilise the method to ascertain training needs.
This follows an increasing trend towards online recruitment, which saw a rise of five points during November, according to the Monster Employment Index.
Gary Hourihan of Korn/Ferry International remarked that jobseekers should weigh up their own personality against what they think the employer is looking for during job interviews and online assessments.
He told the news source: 'If you know the company's style is highly decisive and you're more contemplative, you're going to try to appear more action-oriented,' he said.
'That's exactly what you'd do on a test. That's called role or leadership style - how you present yourself to others.'
