Relationship-building may be used to attract top graduates, says expert
Relationship-building may be the new way in which companies attract top graduate talent into their workplace, one expert has said.
According to Simon Reichwald, the Managing Director of Bright Futures and Graduate Success, advertising is failing to attract graduates to certain firms and relationship-building could more successful, Online Recruitment magazine reports.
Mr Reichwald remarked that top graduates are often aware of the best companies in a specific sector and will know before the application process that they want to work for these firms.
'This awareness has been achieved as the best companies have created a powerful profile well in advance of the time students start actively job hunting,' he told the news source.
Mr Reichwald added that companies are looking towards more focussed marketing with fewer universities and more online activity.
ClickAJob Chief Executive, Yngve Traberg, noted recently that a shift to online recruiting means graduates could effectively 'stage manage' their careers using an online presence.
