New jobs for accountancy graduates
The latest students to graduate from a business accounting and finance course at Newcastle United have now entered the jobs market.
Known as the Flying Start Degree programme, the course was organised jointly with the university, PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), The Journal reports.
According to the newspaper, the majority of graduates have now embarked upon careers with PricewaterhouseCoopers at their offices across the UK, after having undertaken both academic studies and work experience as part of the course.
Rob Jones, Director of Studies at Newcastle University Business School, said that the programme ensures that students develop 'academic, personal and professional skills.'
'As a result graduates from the degree have a real advantage once they start their careers,' he remarked.
Established in 1880, the ICAEW has over 128,000 members and is the largest professional accountancy body in Europe.
