Graduates have summer opportunities, specialist suggests
Graduate jobs are available during the summer months but university leavers must be prepared to search in non-traditional places, one expert has claimed.
Chief Executive of the Work Wise UK initiative Phil Flaxton said that many former students may find employment in the not-for-profit sector.
He commented: 'The charity sector I know are always looking for good people they will take people on for a short term, one or two months, at a reasonable daily rate.' -

Graduate jobs to be provided by IBM

IBM has announced new funding to its Ireland Development Lab that will create around 100 jobs over the next three years.
According to the software developer, the Industrial Development Agency (IDA) Ireland is to provide up to 25m (£21.3m) of investment for the project, which is to generate vacancies for technology graduates.
Minister of Finance Brian Lenihan said Ireland's contributions will help the development of global software research. -

Graduate employers still recruiting, says study
Graduate job seekers will be encouraged to learn there are still opportunities in the UK employment market, according to a recent survey.
A joint study by CBI and Harvey Nash showing employment trends for 2009 found that a number of companies intend to continue recruiting university-educated people this year.
The report said: 'Graduates are a vital part of the UK workforce, bringing fresh thinking, analytical skills and new knowledge to businesses.'
