International universities 'to attract British talent through recruiters'
Educational institutions in the US and Australia are planning to use recruiters to attract the best in British talent, it has been claimed.
Ivy League universities such as Harvard and Yale are also in positions to offer UK students substantial grants and bursaries to fund their education, The Times reported.
Vice-provost for International Affairs at the University of Cincinnati, Mitch Leventhal, said that the expansion of institutions in the US has been hampered by the fact that it is illegal to use agencies for domestic recruitment.
However, the ban does not apply internationally, therefore universities can find ways to take advantage of this, Mr Leventhal continued.
'Universities here will have to work even more closely with their agents to ensure that they continue to be motivated to recommend UK institutions,' he added.
Meanwhile, a recent international poll conducted by Kelly Services found that two-thirds of employees in the UK wished they had taken their education further.
