Meta-Morphose: Graduate recruitment is solution to credit crunch
An expert has advised that recruiting graduates 'represents a solution' to the problems posed by the credit crunch.
Employment agency Meta-Morphose International claimed that recruiting graduates is a good way for a company to stick to their budgets during the credit crunch as starting salaries are lower than for experienced employees.
However, as the economy continues to present problems for employers, many major firms have reduced their graduate intakes this year.
Managing Director of the agency, Roy Bowles, commented: 'The credit crunch represents a unique challenge for organisations that need to reduce costs while at the same time increase their workforce in order to grow as a business.'
He added that companies must ensure their new recruits are sufficiently trained and prepared for their transition into the workplace.
In related news, Deutsche Bank recently conducted research which concluded that IT outsourcing is not affecting the amount of jobs available to graduates in the UK.
