Graduate recruitment 'on the agenda' for many firms
Now graduation season is officially over, employees will be meticulously searching for their ideal graduate candidates, a publication has pointed out.
However, though many graduates entering workplace programmes will posess skills honed at university, easing themselves into a workplace environment may prove challenging, Personnel Today reported.
Firms who expect their new graduate employees to fit seamlessly into the workplace may "come unstuck", according to the magazine.
It seems some businesses are bearing this in mind. Recruitment company RightTrack Consultancy has claimed to have seen an increase in demand for employer schemes offering support for graduates in their new positions.
Managing Director of the firm Kasmin Mooney said: 'Graduates can be amazing assets to any organisation and, if supported and developed properly, will be the driving force for future success.'
This week it was reported that many major property firms such as DTZ, Artiseal and Montagu Evanshave cut their graduate intake to deal with financial pressures.
