Students share £12,000 prize for finance challenge
The winners of the ifs School of Finance Uni Investor Challenge 2008 have been announced, with engineering undergraduate at Imperial College London Bing Wen Tan scooping the top prize of £9,000.
A registered charity, ifs School of Finance also offers a range of continuing professional development services through membership.
Students from more than 100 higher-education institutions took part in the competition organised by the financial charity, which involved a three-month challenge to manage an imaginary stock market.
Director of Financial Capability and Further Education at the ifs School of Finance, Gary Millner, said: 'The ifs Uni Investor challenges help students become more engaged with business, economics and the financial media as well as providing some practical experience in a risk-free environment.'
Postgraduates Justin Chircop and Fangzhou Huang, who are studying finance at the University of Aberdeen, were also winners, sharing the top postgraduate prize of £3,000.
