Teesside placed in Ivy League for animation
The University of Teesside has been named as a top institute for artists in the world of animation, it has emerged.
Being placed into the top 20 of schools around the world offering animation courses by 3D World magazine means the university is now classified as a Global Ivy League destination for computer-generated imaging.
Assistant Dean for the University's School of Computing, Graham Dean, commented: '3D World is such a well-respected journal in the animation community.
'Their external validation clearly shows the quality of our students' work and the quality of our engagement with the animation industry through Animex.'
The university was ranked as 18th best animation school in the league, a decision based upon the institution's visibility in the 3D world, measuring the number of animations presented by Teesside students at six festivals.
Furthermore, the university has been named as the UK's first Media Academy as part of the Skillset Media Academy Network.
