Cranfield launches new employment programme
Graduate jobs provider Cranfield University has unveiled a new scheme designed to help those suffering from the economic downturn.
The four-week Enhanced Professional Development Programme - available fully funded for people who have received redundancy notices or are unemployed - will cover a number of different areas, from writing CVs and interview techniques through to presentation skills and improving efficiency.
Starting on September 14th, the scheme is backed by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and is part of an overall 're-skilling initiative' under the HEFCE Economic Challenge Investment Fund.
Cranfield is a postgraduate institution made up of management, defence, engineering, health and applied sciences schools.
Earlier this month, one of its students, Jules Garbe, received a Chief Officer Performance Award from Cambridge Constabulary 'for his outstanding work on process mapping for a force-wide service improvement programme'.
The police force was said to be particularly impressed by his work ethic and abilities.
