SunGard to train MBAs
Graduate recruiter SunGard will be training students pursuing a master of business administration (MBA) degree in energy-efficient strategies as part of a programme run by the US Environmental Defense Fund (EDF).
Under the ten-week Climate Corps summer fellowship course, participants explore the ways in which sustainability is embedded within leading organisations.
This year marks the first time that software and IT services company SunGard is involved in the programme and is hosting Ryan Whisnant, an environmental engineering and MBA student from the University of Michigan.
Mr Whisnant will analyse the carbon footprint of the corporate campus and regional offices in order to make recommendations to the firm on how it could save energy.
'We are pleased SunGard is participating in Climate Corps and are looking forward to seeing the energy savings from their efficiency investments,' Millie Chu Baird, EDF project director, commented.
SunGard was recently named best banking technology provider at the annual Banker Middle East awards in Bahrain.
