Graduates consider benefits of their own business
Graduates are aware of the benefits of running their own business, one expert has said.
According to a spokesperson for the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship (NCGE), there are several programmes available to graduates who may want to start their own business.
He remarked that students are now more aware of the possibilities entrepreneurship can lead to.
'[There is] greater awareness of the benefits of running your own business, greater awareness of help available and the influence of popular culture - Dragons' Den and The Apprentice have all contributed,' he said.
The NCGE runs rallies for students who want to practise their networking skills and pitch their business ideas, the spokesperson commented.
Named Flying Start, the events are designed to 'identify, support and encourage students and graduates,' he said.
The NCGE is calling for universities to take a wider look at entrepreneurship following the recent release of the Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in Higher Education survey.
