PwC named best graduate employer
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has won three accolades for its approach to employing graduates in this year's National Graduate Recruitment Awards.
In one, graduate careers departments from a number of universities commended PwC for its 'outstanding contribution to developing employability and skills in the curriculum'.
The company also topped the categories for best student marketing campaign for organisations recruiting more than 50 graduates a year and most popular graduate employer in the accountancy and professional services sector. Both were voted by students.
Sonja Stockton, PwC's Head of Recruitment, said: 'We're delighted to have won these three awards and it's particularly satisfying to have such support from students and the career service.'
This year will be difficult for those graduating, which was why the organisation launched a campaign to increase employability skills for those leaving university, she added.
Graduate recruitment at PwC will be rolled out in stages across the year, with the intention of employing 1,000 graduates by the end of 2009.
The international accountancy and tax-advice firm was also the Times top graduate employer for 2008.
