Training to be an energy scientist
Graduate programmes run by nuclear companies are accredited by one of the engineering or scientific professional bodies, and involve on-the-job learning, formal courses, lectures and mentoring. Postgraduate diplomas are encouraged.
Salaries
A graduate in a position such as technical officer with the UK Atomic Energy Authority can earn £20,000 to £35,000. Project managers can earn up to £40,000.
