The Legal Practice Course (LPC) is skills-based and forms the vocational element of training for intending solicitors.

It provides a practical grounding for the two-year training contract and a future career as a professionally qualified solicitor.

Timetable

The full-time LPC can come as a shock after the timetable of many academic degrees. It is run over an academic year for a minimum of 36 weeks.

The part-time course over two years may be delivered by evening, day, weekend or week blocks of study.

Preparing to be a solicitor

The course ethos and delivery mirrors the actual job. You will be expected to work (often long) office hours to complete individual and group tasks and assignments. This will give you a feel for the pressures and challenges of working in a law firm.
