Training to be a tax adviser

Tax advisers train while in employment, studying part time for the examinations of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. Another route is to qualify as an accountant, then specialise in taxation work.

Salaries

Starting salaries are between £18,000 and £30,000. A newly qualified consultant could expect to earn between £28,000 and £45,000. Senior tax advisers can earn over £120,000.
